Dr Carly Reid

  • About Carly

    BPsych (Hons) PhD (Clin) MAPS FCCLP


    Carly has experience working with children, adolescents, adults, older adults, couples, and groups with a variety of presenting concerns and cultural backgrounds. She has a special interest in mood and anxiety disorders, trauma, and working with inter-country adoptees and clients who identify as LGBTQIA+, as well as those with dual or more complex presentations.


    Carly combines a compassionate, client-centred approach with evidence-based psychological treatment approaches, including cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), Interpersonal Psychotherapy (IPT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), schema therapy, and dialectical behavioural therapy (DBT) skills.


    Carly is also passionate about training, teaching, and supervision, and is a board approved supervisor. She has over seven years experience as a lecturer and supervisor in undergraduate and postgraduate psychology programs.


Dr Joel Howell

    Joel has experience supporting children, adolescents, and adults and groups to navigate a range of experiences, including anxiety and mood disorders. He has a special interest in the treatment of perfectionism and obsessive-compulsive disorder. He is also interested in working with people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds and clients who identify as LGBTQIA+.


    Joel utilises a range of evidence-based approaches to treatment, including cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), metacognitive therapy (MCT), schema therapy, mindfulness-based interventions, and dialectical behavioural therapy skills (DBT). Joel aims to provide a genuine and authentic therapeutic experience for each of his clients.


    Joel is also a board approved supervisor. Joel also has five years of experience as an academic, teaching across undergraduate and postgraduate psychology courses and has published work related to perfectionism, cognitive biases, and psychological well-being.
